We are a quiet site with a strict no-noise policy after 10pm. Our cottages are set in an eighteen acre farmstead, which is a haven for wildlife, with a variety of micro-habitats including a natural ground-fed pond, rain garden, ancient woodland, hay meadows and a babbling brook. Deer, foxes, stoats, weasels, voles, tawny owls, rabbits, hares, buzzards, kestrels and woodpeckers are just a few of the creatures that call Tangled Bank their home.
For those who want to venture out, we have direct access to a network of footpaths. With Exmoor, stunning beaches, coastal walks and the Tarka trail on our doorstep, there are plenty of ways to get outdoors and enjoy the very best that nature has to offer. Dartmoor is a short drive away and there are 10 RSPB sites within an hours’ drive. We are an ethically minded and environmentally aware company; keen custodians of the land intent on preserving the beautiful Devon countryside for future generations.
Uncomplicated comfort, connecting you with nature
Feed the alpacas and search for eggs for breakfast. Make new friends at fireside gatherings. Laze in a hammock, spot wildlife in the woods or delve through the games trunk. Cook up a smoke-licked family feast in the Dutch oven, count the stars as night falls, enjoy a glass of something lovely in the hot tub as the sun sets over the valley.
